These filters are for balanced ventilation with heat recovery – known in Belgium as ventilation system D.
What this filter set protects against
The filter pack includes 10 filters that can be used as:
- Extract filter – F7 (ePM1 55%) – for MVHR protection
- Supply filter – F7 (ePM1 55%) – for indoor air protection
This filter pack follows the ISO 16890 standard for particle filtration efficiency. The F7 filters capture around 55% of very fine particles as small as 1 micron, including bacteria, smog, tobacco smoke particles, combustion dust, spores, and wildfire smoke particles. The filter used on the extract side cleans the air removed from your indoor space and protects the MVHR unit by reducing visible dust and general build-up in the ventilation system. Meanwhile, the filter used on the supply side helps clean incoming outdoor air before it enters your home, improving indoor air quality and protecting your health.
While the pack contains 10 filters, only 2 are used at a time – one for the extract side and one for the supply side of your MVHR system. You can use the same filter type for both. However, to reduce costs, you may choose to use the higher filter class (F7) on the supply side only, and a more affordable G4 filter on the extract side. The additional 10-pack of G4 filters is available via this link.
Usage and maintenance
Atrea recommends replacing the filters every 3 months to ensure optimal air quality and system performance. However, replacement frequency may vary depending on factors such as:
- Air pollution levels (e.g. urban vs rural areas)
- Allergies or respiratory sensitivities
- Indoor pets or smoking
- Dust from nearby construction sites
If your system includes a filter change indicator, follow its alerts. Otherwise, check the filters visually – if they appear very dirty or clogged, it's time to replace them.
Manufacturing quality
These filters are manufactured by Atrea, a respected family-owned company based in the Czech Republic. Alongside its main facility, Atrea coordinates production through branches and authorised partners across Europe, where they maintain strict oversight of product quality. Backed by over 30 years of engineering experience, Atrea designs its products with a focus on energy efficiency, incorporating advanced heat exchange systems, automatic climate control, and cutting-edge airflow technology. All products undergo thorough internal testing and meet stringent European performance and quality standards.
These material filters are made from high-quality synthetic non-woven media, designed to provide reliable particle filtration with minimal airflow resistance. This type of filter is lightweight, flexible, and easy to handle during replacement.
Choosing original Atrea filters guarantees your MVHR system performs according to the manufacturer’s specifications, maintaining optimal air quality and energy efficiency.
