These filters are for balanced ventilation with heat recovery – known in Belgium as ventilation system D.
ComfoAir 500: confirm the existing filter holder and filter reference before ordering. Zehnder lists dedicated legacy ComfoAir 500 filters and newer starter/refill packs; direct fit of this set in every ComfoAir 500 configuration has not been confirmed.
This is the older ComfoAir/ComfoD/WHR cassette-filter family, not the ComfoAir Q series. Check the unit name and installed filter reference when selecting replacements.
What the filter set protects against
The set contains one G4 extract filter, rated ISO Coarse 60%, and one F7 supply filter, rated ISO ePM1 50%. The extract filter captures coarse dust and lint to protect the ventilation unit. The supply filter captures fine particles, including pollen, mould spores and combustion particles, to improve the quality of incoming outdoor air. The ePM1 rating describes filtration efficiency for the relevant particle-size fraction; it does not guarantee removal of every pollutant or microorganism.
Use and maintenance
The set contains two filters. Install the G4 extract filter on the extract-air side and the F7 supply filter on the outdoor-air intake side, following the unit instructions. Inspect filters regularly and replace them approximately every 3-6 months, or sooner when dirty, clogged or indicated by the unit. Replacement frequency depends on outdoor pollution, dust and operating conditions. Switch off the unit before replacement, fit both filters securely and reset the filter reminder according to the unit manual. Replace used filters rather than washing them.
Manufacturing quality
These are original Zehnder filters, supplied directly by Zehnder. Pleated media increase the available filtration surface. Plastic frames and sealing edges support a secure fit in the compatible cassette-filter holders. The documented ISO 16890 classifications are ISO Coarse 60% for G4 and ISO ePM1 50% for F7.
