What filter set protects against
Filter set includes 3 filters of different efficiency classes:
- 1 × G4 filter (Coarse 75%) – for coarse-particle filtration and MVHR protection
- 1 × M5 (F5) filter (ePM10 50%) – for improved particle filtration
- 1 × F7 filter (ePM1 55%) – for incoming-air filtration and indoor air protection
This filter set follows the ISO 16890 standard for particle filtration efficiency. The G4 filter captures approximately 75% of coarse airborne particles, including household dust, larger pollen grains, fibres, sand, sawdust, plant debris and insects. It helps reduce dirt accumulation inside the ventilation unit, protecting the heat exchanger, fans and air ducts while supporting efficient airflow.
The M5 (F5) filter captures approximately 50% of particles that are 10 microns or larger, including pollen, mould spores, pet dander and household dust. It provides a finer filtration stage than the G4 filter, helping keep the ventilation system cleaner and reducing the amount of dust circulating indoors.
The F7 filter captures approximately 55% of fine particles as small as 1 micron, including fine pollen, mould spores, bacteria-carrying particles, smog, combustion dust and smoke particles. It cleans incoming outdoor air before it enters your premises, helping improve indoor air quality and providing additional protection for people affected by allergies or respiratory sensitivities.
Usage and maintenance
To ensure optimal air quality and reliable ventilation-system performance, inspect the filters regularly and replace them when they become dirty or clogged. Under typical operating conditions, filters should usually be replaced every 3–6 months. However, replacement frequency may vary depending on factors such as:
- Air pollution levels (e.g. urban vs rural areas)
- Allergies or respiratory sensitivities
- Indoor pets or smoking
- Dust from nearby construction sites
If your system includes a filter change indicator, follow its alerts. Otherwise, check the filters visually – if they appear very dirty or clogged, it is time to replace them.
Manufacturing quality
This is an original Vallox filter set manufactured by Vallox for compatible Vallox ILMAVA 250 ventilation units. Original filters are produced according to the ventilation-unit manufacturer’s technical requirements, helping maintain the intended airflow, filtration performance and energy efficiency of the system.
The set combines synthetic filter-material elements with panel filters manufactured using Z-line technology. The folded filter structure increases the effective filtration surface area, improving particle capture and dust-holding capacity while maintaining suitable airflow through the ventilation unit.
